98 Directories (Rocking Chair) Stephanie Hartman I wanted to build a rocking chair for several reasons. First, I love rocking chairs. Also, from the beginning, many people were skeptical that it could be done particularly out of old directories. Achieving a chair that could support weight and rock was a challenge. The woven pattern really became striking as the chair came together. The arch in the runners is achieved through the use of wedges, and compression. The entire chair was close to twice the size before compression was applied.
