The frame is a very simple project used a picture cut out of a discarded National Geographic magazine and a book. I used a skill saw to cut the square shape in the frame and attached the picture to the inside of the back cover. This simple project has potential to be expanded with different shaped openings or increasing the number of books and colors used.

I work for the MIT Environment, Health and Safety Office on pollution prevention (P2) on the MIT campus. P2 includes many different ingredients, but the goal is to create a sustainable living and working environment at MIT. A large part of my responsibilities are developing waste reduction strategies, especially for hard to recycle and reuse items such as books.
