MATLAB Installation Instructions

  • MATLAB is available free of charge to all registered MIT students through IS&T. Visit the IS&T site and follow their installation instructions: Student MATLAB
  • We recommend that you acquire the latest version available to you. R2011a or later is recommended, but you should try to at least get a version from 2010 or later.
  • You can alternatively do all the MATLAB work directly on Athena machines. IS&T provides instructions for doing this: MATLAB for Athena
  • If you are accessing Athena through SSH instead of using a cluster machine, you need to first type "add matlab", then call "matlab" from the command line. Note that this is generally very slow.
